Ready for peace of mind? Ever wonder what those people in the park are doing standing strangely or why they are moving slow? Kicking into thin air?
If you do, you might want to know more about Tai Chi, the ancient form of Martial Arts that consists of slow, rhythmic, and meditative body movements designed to enhance relaxation, inner calm, and peace.
Learn all about Tai Chi by attending World Tai Chi Day on Saturday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Rancho Santa Margarita Lakeshore Park in Rancho Santa Margarita.
World Tai Chi Day is being put on by the Shaolin School of Rancho Santa Margarita which is hoping to introduce the health and wellness benefits of Tai Chi to the local community.
As mentioned, Tai Chi is a centuries-old Chinese Martial Art that descends from qigong, an ancient Chinese discipline that has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine. According to some records, Tai Chi can be traced as far as 2,500 years ago.
It is a series of slow, meditative body movements that were originally designed for self-defense and to help promote inner peace and calm.
Don’t worry if you have no clue as to what the movements are, how to stand, what to wear, or how to breathe correctly, new-comers, as well as experienced practitioners are welcome to join World Tai Chi Day lakeside for a morning of fun and learning. Admission is free of charge.
Open to all ages, Tai Chi is also known to improve coordination, flexibility, balance and concentration, while promoting relaxation and overall well-being.
So, what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars now!
