Located inside the Best Western Inn, across the McDonald’s parking lot, is Formosa Chinese restaurant good for the weary business travelers to stay within a daily per diem.
The menu is extensive for a small cafeteria like dining room and Charlie, the proprietor/waiter /maitre d, is willing to modify any dish to your specifications. This includes cranking up the spice or cooking to Hunan, Szechwan, or Mandarin cuisine style.
Lunch Specials from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. include fried or steamed rice:
• $5.95 – two dozen choices, which include the standard faire and a few specialties for vegetarians like, eggplant in hot garlic sauce, sautéed string beans, and stir-fried shredded vegetables.
• $6.50 – one dozen choices of Tawainese favorites like 3-cup squid, kung pao calamari, honey shrimp with pecans, triple delight with dried bean curd, and intestine with sour mustard.
• $6.95 – half a dozen choices featuring fish and scallops in different variations with bean sauce, tender greens, hot garlic sauce and two bean curd rolls.
Every dinner entree provides a mountain of food easily shared by two or more. Peking or Gourmet Family Dinners ($12.50 and $14.50 respectively, per person) are the best values and include appetizers and soup.
