Wonder what the Milky Way looks like? Curious about the Planet Saturn or Pluto?
Wonder no more because on Saturday, April 17, from sundown to 9:30 p.m. in the Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park in Coto De Caza you can attend Astronomy Night.
As a wildlife sanctuary, Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park located at 30952 Oso Parkway is home to an abundant number of native plants and animal life. Old groves of Western Sycamores and Coast Live Oaks border the park's two seasonally flowing creeks. The remaining land features rolling hills and canyons of Coastal Sage Scrub and grasslands. Riley is part of OC Parks whose mission is: “As a steward of significant natural and cultural resources, Orange County Parks manages and operates a system of regional parks, beaches, harbors, trails and historic sites that are places of recreation and enduring value.”
Yes, while at the exciting event learn from those in the know like the OC Astronomers Club and explore the Galaxy during Astronomy Night. The evening should be filled with all sorts of fun while observing the spring night sky.
No need to come equipped since the OC Astronomers Club will have telescopes to view the stars, planets and nebulas on hand. Not only that, many of the club’s members will be available to answer all kinds of questions and inquiries, as well as share interesting facts about what is in the vast blue yonder overhead.
The event is appropriate for all ages, parking is $3.00; the event free of charge, call 949.923.2265 for more information.
