The show will run from February 16-21 at the OPAC. |
Ask a theater buff what songs they know from the stage and more than likely, you’ll get Broadway fans going gaga over the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Having a dozen shows on Broadway and on tour (that’s simultaneously) doesn’t hurt, but it’s really he music that sticks with the audience after the curtain drops.
For fans new and old, the Orange County Performing Arts Center is showcasing the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, so sing along or learn something new—there’s something for everyone.
Webber composed music for Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat just to name some of his more famous works, so even if you’ve only seen film adaptations or Vegas interpretations of these great works, the Center’s bringing together the best of the best for this performance.
With a full orchestra to back up Broadway vets like Howard McGillin, who has over 2,500 performances of Phantom under his belt. He’ll join fellow Phantom castmember Laurie Gayle Stephenson and Kathy Voytko, who debuted on stage with Oklahoma! and performed as Eva Peron in Evita’s 25th anniversary show. Conceived by Webber himself, this show garnered rave reviews after playing at Kennedy Center. With these unforgettable performances and an unstoppable cast, you’ll remember these songs for a long time coming.
February 16-21, 2010. Segerstrom Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. For ticket information, visit www.ocpac.org.
