This "average" city has had their fair share of celebrating.

It may be hard to believe, but Ladera Ranch is celebrating its 10th anniversary and it will be doing so up until an explosive final event held on July 4.

The year-long celebration of history, heritage and legacy of the community’s first decade has thus far included an exciting martini contest.

The favorite spirit concoction was announced this past summer and the winning martini is “The xMartini” created by The Ranch Sports Grill. It includes Hibiscus flower reduction, star anise, fennel seed, pink and green peppercorn, A& S Citron sweet and sour and simple syrup. The adult drink will be available to order and enjoy come August at participating Ladera Ranch restaurants. Not only that, it will be served in a souvenir martini glass commemorating the 10th anniversary of Ladera.

Bartenders from five local restaurants competed on July 10 last year at BeachFire. There were 112 residents who participated in the contest voting and the break down was as follows: 50 votes for The Ranch Sports Grill; 42 votes for Infusion; 13 votes for The Newport Rib Co; 12 votes for BeachFire and 5 votes for Roma d’ Italia.

Other things scheduled for the coming year to coincide with the 10th anniversary include a resident art contest for Roots & Wings magazine cover, resident participation in the Ladera video, and even the chance to purchase Ladera 10th anniversary apparel soon.
