Seniors, who feel like getting out of the house for something different, should head to the Bell Tower Bell Tower Regional Community Center, 22232 El Paseo this Thursday, Jan. 28.
Not only will there be a delicious catered luncheon of fish with dill sauce, carrots, brown rice, and Caesar salad, starting at 11:30., there will also be a special program Medical Counseling presented by Fairhaven Memorial beginning at 12:00.
A raffle will also take place.
“This is a great way for seniors to have lunch, socialize and then stay for an informative talk afterward,” says Lindy Kehler, nutrition site director.
Lunch has been served since 2004 every day at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center for seniors age 60 and over. While the meals are free, a donation of $4 is greatly appreciated. The menu varies each day and consists of hot and cold meals. Reservations are not required, but it never hurts to call.
Lunches are provided by South County Senior Services, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and improve the quality of life and independence of the senior community. South County Senior Services works in partnership with The Bell Tower Foundation to provide services for the seniors in the community.
Why not put on your social cap and participate in an afternoon affair that you won’t soon forget? Meet new people, dine on flavorful food and learn about healthcare issues.
Other events for seniors include Twilight Dinners held the fourth Thursday of each month at the center and include appetizers, wine and entertainment. The next Twilight Dinner is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 25 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a suggested donation of $7.
For further information on any of the programs mentioned, please call Lindy Kehler @ 949-216-9700 Ext. 257.
