South County Bank (located on Avenida Empresa and Santa Margarita Parkway) hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Chamber Mixer on Tuesday the 17th. The event was open to Chamber of Commerce members and non-members and featured green beer, great food, networking, and prizes, including a jar of money that was awarded to the participant who guessed closest to the correct amount ($99.10).
Curt Stanley of Adventures in Advertising in Rancho Santa Margarita was the official MC of the event. He introduced the board of the Chamber of Commerce and the ambassadors, who serve as the welcoming committee for new Chamber members.
Several Chamber members also had the opportunity to give minute-long commercials about their businesses.
“It was a good chance for everyone to get together,” reports John Melissa of Melissa Data, a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
The mayor of Rancho Santa Margarita spoke at the mixer regarding the city’s financial status. The city predicts that they will be able to make it through the current year in the economic crisis with no curtailment of services.
Although they are not sure about the budget for next year, they did mention that they have reserves equivalent to one full year of revenue which they can dip into if needed. This shows the incredible economic discipline that Rancho Santa Margarita has.
